What is “Nihon Buyo”? |
|
Nihon Buyo is an artistic dance based on the tradition of classical techniques transmitted from preceding forms of art, and expressed through the medium of the stage.
Nihon Buyo consists of three elements, “mai”, “odori” and “shina”. |

Explanation of “Kotobuki Jishi” |
|
This dance totally involves gorgeous emotions.
At the first in part of “mai”, a princess plays with butterflies and enjoys the tree peonies.
The following part is rhythmically risen up by “odori”. Please feel “shina”, which expresses emotion and situation of the traditional Japan.
The final part is climax (named “chirashi”). All of evil spirits are driven out with a head of small “shishi”.
As pine is always green, everybody prays a permanent peace of the earth, and this symposium will be felicitated by the Nihon Buyo. |
